The History of the Cobb Walk
The guided walk around the historic harbour of Lyme Regis explains the history and unique features of this Grade One historic monument. The mediaeval harbour was once one of the largest ports in England; there are secret stone carvings, fossils, a
whispering gallery, a ghost story, and rebellion against the Crown of England.
The walk lasts about an hour and can be combined with a trip to the Aquarium where a further talk can be heard on the local fish displayed in the tanks. The Aquarium is unique as it's one of the few that have local British marine life on display. A longer guided walk to see the nearby fossil sites can also be included on Monmouth Beach.
The walk starts from the Aquarium on the Cobb at Lyme Regis.
The guided walk is subject to vagaries of the English weather (if it's pouring with rain or blowing a gale then I have a problem).
The walk lasts about an hour and is not very strenuous
Cost £5.00 per person and £2.50 per child. Adults must accompany children.
